Julie Ann Fulp Gammons

Julie Fulp Gammons, 49, of King, NC, passed away on Sunday, July 21, 2024. Julie was born October 14, 1974, in Forsyth County to the late Royce A. Fulp and Janice Conner Fulp. She graduated from South Stokes High School in 1992. She was a four year letterman in softball, basketball, and volleyball. Because her blood ran ‘TarHeel Blue’ through and through, she proudly accepted the invitation to attend and play softball at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She received her bachelor's degree from UNC and went on to earn her master’s degree from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. She began her teaching and coaching career at Elon University. She continued teaching and coaching in Stokes and Surry Counties for the next 27 years. Julie spent her life sharing her passion for youth and sports. She was an outstanding teacher and coach that was determined to bring out the very best in her students and athletes. She was a member of the First Christian Church of King. Julie was preceded in death by her grandparents and father. Surviving are her husband of 21 years, Travis; daughter, Zoie; mother, Jan; sister, Krista Cook (Greg); and nieces, Haley Cook and Macey Cook. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, July 24, 2024, from 5:00 PM - 8:00 PM at West Stokes High School Gymnasium. Her celebration of life service will also be held at West Stokes High School Gymnasium on Thursday, July 25, 2024, at 2:00 PM officiated by Pastor Glenn Van Meter and Pastor Peter Cain of First Christian Church in King.
