Karen Legard

Karen Legard, 54, of Lewisville NC. went to be with the Lord on October 15th, 2016 after battling Lymphoma. She was an active member in Unity Moravian church, where she was a leader of the annual Bazaar, head diener for the love feast, and an avid craft enthusiast within her community. Karen was preceded in death by her father Herman Grissler and step-father Stanley Dempski. She is survived by her children, Cory Legard of Roanoke VA and Ashley Legard of Greensboro NC; mother Madeline Dempski; sister and brothers Michele Grissler, Kevin Grissler and wife Lisa Grissler, Michael Dempski, Mathew Dempski and wife Heather Dempski, and Steven Dempski; and many nephews and nieces. A funeral service will be held at 2pm on Monday, October 17, 2016 at Unity Moravian Church, 8300 Concord Church Rd. Lewisville, NC 27023. The family will receive visitors at Unity Moravian Church from 6pm -8pm on October 16, 2016. In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to the Leukemia/Lymphoma society at www.lls.org.
