Karen "KK" Kerr Faircloth Lowery

Karen ""KK"" Kerr Faircloth Lowery, 62, of Mocksville, NC in Davie County, passed away at Forsyth Medical Center surrounded by family on January 24th 2016. Karen was born in Forsyth County to Eugene ""Bill"" Kerr and Mary Hunter Faircloth on October 30, 1953. She graduated from Davie High School in 1972 and continued on to Davidson County Community College and then received her bachelor's degree from NC State University. Karen was married to Stanley Allen Lowery on September 1st 1990, they were married for 25 years. They had one child together her pride and joy of life, Kathryn ""Katie"" Kerr Lowery. Karen worked as a Federal Tobacco Inspector and Grader as an ATF agent in the Federal Department of Agriculture. She enjoyed traveling through her reading of novels and listening to bluegrass and county music. Karen took great pride in her cooking and loved to teach children how to cook. She also was an extremely creative writer and was the author of several children's books about Katie as she grew up and cook books. Karen is survived by her spouse Stanley; daughter, Katie (Charles) of Davie County; sisters, Pamela Faircloth of Davie County, and Ann Brown (Donald); nieces Shirley (Austin) Dutcher and Chris Brown; nephews, Paul and Matthew Head; great-nieces Katie and Sara Ducture of Florida. She also left behind a beloved adopted child, Ivy Maria and granddaughter Bella Schmitz. Karen was preceded in death by her parents and her brother Fred Baker Faircloth. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, February 2, 2016 at Hayworth-Miller Kinderton Chapel, 108 E Kinderton Way Advance, NC 27006, with Rev. Greg Little officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM Monday at the funeral home. Flowers may be sent to Hayworth Miller Funeral Home at Kinderton.
