KERNERSVILLE – Karon ”Kay” Bolden Gray, 73, passed away Sunday, November 4, 2018 at Forsyth Medical Center. Kay was born in Forsyth County on June 11, 1945, the daughter of Lee Melvin Bolden and Ruby Smith. Kay was of the Baptist Faith. She retired after 35 wonderful years, from Manuel Sheet Metal Works, Inc., where she worked as their bookkeeper.
In addition to her parents, Kay was preceded in death by her husband of 29 years, David Garland Gray; son, Todd Garland Gray; her twin brother, Kenneth, and two other brothers, Jerry and Larry Bolden.
Surviving are her daughter, Michelle Gray Manuel (husband, David); two granddaughters, Megan Smith (husband, Jeff), and Shelby Manuel; one great grandchild, Savannah Grace Smith; one brother, David Bolden; a sister-in-law, Nancy Bolden; several nieces and nephews; and a very special uncle, Milton Hawkins.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, November 10, 2018 at Eastlawn Gardens of Memory with Todd Cartner officiating.
Memorials may be made to Meals-on-Wheels, 2895 Shorefair Drive, Winston-Salem, NC 27105.
The family would like to extend special thanks to Dr. Sherry Ryter-Brown and staff of Pineview Family Medicine of Kernersville, and Alex Stovall of Advanced Home Health for their compassionate care of Kay. You all made her feel like she was more than a patient!
