Katherine Gail Porter

Winston Salem - Ms. Katherine Gail Porter, 57, passed away November 25, 2016 at Forsyth Medical Center. She was born November 25, 1959 in Forsyth County to the late Weaver Clive Porter and Helen Lucille Wells Porter. Kathy graduated from Parkland High School. She attended High Point College and Forsyth Technical Community College. Ms. Porter worked at Harris Teeter for 34 years, and was very dedicated to her customers, and was well known by many people of all walks of life through her job. She was an avid Braves and Tarheels Fan, and loved to travel. She was very dedicated to her family, especially her mother. Kathy took very good care of her mother during her illness.
Surviving are her brother, Mark Porter and wife Lori, two nephews, Alexander and Ryan Porter, four Aunts, Opal White, Lorane Page, Ann Beaty, and Audrey Grillo, and numerous loving cousins.
A funeral service will be conducted 2:00 PM Tuesday, November 29, 2016 at Main Street United Methodist Church in Kernersville with Dr. Claude Kaylor and Rev. Rick Carter officiating. Burial will follow in Oaklawn Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church. Memorials may be made to the Boy Scout Troop 940 at Main Street United Methodist Church 306 S.
