Kathryn Mahaffey

Mrs. Kathryn Brown Mahaffey, 91, of Winston-Salem, passed away on March 28, 2019 at her residence. She was born on August 21, 1927 in Yadkin County to the late Alex C. and Ila Spear Brown. She was a member of Covenant Presbyterian Church. She retired from the National Labor Relations Board. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Ralph Mahaffey; four sisters, Maxine Johnson, Bea Goodman, Nancy Brown, Nell Holcomb, brother-in-law, Junior Mahaffey and sister-in-law, Louise Mahaffey. She is survived by a daughter, Lisa Stafford; son, Neil Mahaffey and fiancé Tonya Berger; one grandson, Justin Mahaffey and wife Christie; one sister, Ouida Brown; one brother in law J. C. Holcomb; and numerous nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be conducted at 4:00 PM, Sunday, March 31, 2019 at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel with Rev. David Merritt officiating. Interment will follow at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends following the service at the funeral home.
