Kathy Jean Mahaffey Young

Kathy Jean Mahaffey Young, 54, of Winston-Salem passed away Thursday, September 20, 2012 at WFU Baptist Medical Center. Kathy was born January 24, 1958 to the late Jake Mahaffey and Barbara Ellis Mahaffey Haneline. Surviving to cherish her memory is her husband of 36 years, Robert Wayne Young of the home, three children; Crystal Young, Christopher Young, Shannon Young all of Winston-Salem, a grandchild; Eben Urquia, 3 brothers, 3 sisters, a number of nieces and nephews and extended children. The family will receive friends from 4:00-6:00 pm Sunday, Sept. 23, 2012 at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel. A Memorial Service will follow st 6:00 pm in the Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel officiated by Minister Keith Stamper. The family would like to express their appreciation to the staff at Miller Street Dialysis and to the staff at WFU Baptist Medical Center for the care given to Kathy.
