Kay Frances Evans Butler

Mrs. Kay Evans Butler, 76, loving mother and grandmother, went home to be with her Lord and Savior, September 14, 2013 at Forsyth Medical Center. Born August 12, 1937, in Muncie, Indiana, she was the daughter of the late Mr. Christian Evans and the late Mrs. Alga Evans. She was a member of Gethsemane Methodist Church. She graduated from Muncie Central High School. In 1974, Mrs. Butler and her husband, Wayne, moved their family to Winston-Salem to open Sir Pizza on Waughtown Street. They later moved their restaurant to Robinhood Road and opened another store Peters Creek Parkway and changed the name to Mr. Butler's Sir Pizza. She was preceded in death by her husband of 48 years, Wayne Butler. Surviving is a daughter, Kim Pierce and husband, C.E., of Winston-Salem; two sons, Brian Butler of Winston-Salem and Todd Butler and wife, Billi Jo, of Lewisville; four grandchildren, Daniel Pierce, Hayley Pierce, Maigan Butler and Jack Butler; one sister, Mary Lewis of Muncie, IN; brothers in law Phil Butler and wife Shirley of High Point, NC; Bobby Butler and wife Kay of Muncie, IN; sister in law Patsy Campbell of Muncie, IN; Glenna Butler Tscherner of Dearfield Beach, FL. A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, September 17, 2013, at Forsyth Memorial Park Mausoleum Chapel. A special thank you is sent by the family to the Ultrasound department at Forsyth Medical Center (Larry, Sabrina and others) for their loving kindness and care of Kay over the past several months and to Dr. Bruce McCune at Digestive Health, Dr. Scherer and Patricia at Piedmont Hematology, Dr. John Davis and Robin at Salem Family Practice for their concern and care for Kay.
