Kaye Cecile Idol

Kernersville - Kaye Cecile Idol, 80, passed away on August 1, 2026, at Memory of Care of the Triad surrounded by her loved ones. Kaye was born November 7, 1945, in Rural Hall, NC.

Kaye graduated in 1964 from Southwest High School-Clemmons. She retired from Northwest Farmers Mutual Insurance Company after 35 years of service. She was a lifelong member of Pisgah United Methodist Church in Kernersville where she served faithfully on the board of directors, United Methodist Women and other committees throughout her life.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Reece T. and Lynetta Newman Cecile; brothers, David Cecile, Donald Cecile, Richard Cecile, Paul Cecile; and sisters, Betty Moore and Shirley Horton.

Kaye is survived by her husband of 61 years, Walter Lane Idol, Jr.; sons Steve Idol (Sharon), Jamie Idol (Teri); grandson, Jacob Idol (Ashley); great-granddaughter, Madeline Idol; great-grandson, Lane Idol; brothers, Jerry Cecile and Ronnie Cecile (Jennifer); and sister, Nancy Shipley.

A Funeral service will be Tuesday, August 4, 2026, at 3:00 PM at Pisgah United Methodist Church, Kernersville, NC. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
