Kenneth Joe Ferris, Sr.

Mr. Kenneth Joe Ferris, Sr., 83, of Winston-Salem passed away Saturday, March 4, 2017 at Forsyth Medical Center. Kenneth was born August 29, 1933, in Forsyth County to Thomas Wootson and Frances Elliott Ferris. He retired from RJ Reynolds after 37 years of loyal service. He was an avid Wake Forest and Carolina Panther's fan. He also loved animals and enjoyed spending time with his wife. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Thomas F. Ferris; and one sister, Patricia Glass. Surviving are his loving wife of 51 years, Katrina ""Ann"" Ferris; three sons, Kenneth Ferris Jr. (wife Joanna), Joel Ferris, and Art Blevins (wife Ruth Anne); one granddaughter, Kayla Ann Blevins; two sisters, Rebecca Stafford and Sara Poplin (husband Coy), and several nieces, nephews, and friends. A graveside service will be held at 11am on Wednesday, March 8, 2017 at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens. Officiating by Rev. Ronald Schuyler. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Forsyth Humane Society, 4881 Country Club Rd. Winston-Salem, NC 27104.
