Kenneth Wayne Geras

Kenneth Wayne Geras, 78, of King NC, went home to be with the Lord on July 31st, 2024. He was born in Universal, PA on May 30th, 1946, to the late Clara Krecek Geras and Michael Geras. He is preceded in death by his brother, Mitchell Geras, of Universal, PA. He is survived by Cheryl Lea Haddock Geras, his wife of fifty-five years. They were married November 2nd, 1968, in Ellwood City PA. Devout Christians, Ken and Cheryl devoted their lives to Christ together in their union. Ken graduated from Point Park College in Pittsburgh in 1970 with a dual major in psychology and behavioral science. He was a US Army Veteran, and served as a medic at Fort Hood, TX. Ken worked in the Environmental Health and Safety field, and retired from Triumph Actuation Systems in 2019. In addition to his wife, Ken is survived by his three children: Jason Geras of King, Jesslyn Geras McCutcheon, (Jason) of King, and Jordan Geras (Anna) of Winston-Salem. Ken is survived by his six grandchildren; Sophia Geras of King, Isabella, Selah, and Abigail McCutcheon of King, and William and Margaret Geras of Winston-Salem. Ken was an active member of First Baptist King for many years where he served as a deacon and a Sunday School teacher. He was an avid golfer and loved spending time with his family. The family will receive visitors on Monday, August 5th, 2024, from 3 to 5 p.m. at the Hayworth-Miller Funeral Home in Rural Hall, NC. His funeral will be held Tuesday, August 6th, 2024, at First Baptist in King at 11:00am, officiated by Pastor Caleb Waller. Full military rites will be conducted graveside, and a reception to follow at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to First Baptist King, 122 Kirby Rd, PO Box 481, King, NC 27021.
