Kenneth Roy Willard Sr.

WILLARD
East Bend - Mr. Kenneth Roy Willard, Sr., 76, of East Bend died Wednesday, July 1, 2015, at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home. He was born January 22, 1939 in Forsyth County to Roy Clifford and Velna Mae Holt Willard. Mr. Willard served in the U.S. Navy. He retired from Forsyth County Dept. of Transportation with 36 years of service. He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Ronnie & Sammy Willard. Surviving are his wife, Shelby Lyons Willard of the home; six children, Dee Matthews (Donald) of East Bend, Robin Jones (Henry) of Germanton, Melissa Collins (David) of Quaker Gap, Lori Moore (Michael) of East Bend, Ken Willard Jr. (Sandy) of East Bend, and David Willard (Misty), East Bend, NC; a very special nephew, Brian Burleson; nine grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and a sister, Ann Smith (Jerry) of Florida. A funeral service will be held 11:00 AM Saturday, July 4, 2015, at Temple Baptist Church with Dr. Carl ""Bud"" Owen officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends 6:00-8:00 PM Friday at Hayworth-Miller Lewisville Chapel. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice & Palliative Care of Forsyth County, 101 Hospice Lane, Winston-Salem, NC 27103.
