Kimberly Ann Spear

Miss Kimberly Ann Spear, 51, of Pfafftown NC passed away peacefully November 18, 2025, at her home. She fought a hard battle against cancer. She did it her way and she was with us here much longer than thought possible. It was her faith in her Lord Jesus that allowed her to beat the odds for all the extra weeks/months we had to love and be with her. She was a true believer in the word of God, and she has received the miracle of a healing in Heaven where she is with her parents, grandparents and other special family members. We are all hurting here on Earth ~ especially her loyal brother, Chris, and her adored niece, Elizabeth - but we know she took her last breath here and arrived in Heaven cancer free and healed in Glory. She was born August 13, 1974, in Winston Salem, NC to Joyce and Bobby Spear. She was a 1994 graduate of Carver High School and attended UNCW. She returned home after her sophomore year to help in the care of her ailing father. Kimberly wasn't afraid to try any new job or adventure in her life. For many years she was the face you saw when walking into the family florist. She was always kind, compassionate and willing to help all customers ~ whether it was a happy occasion or a sad one. After 11 years at North Point Florist she decided to spread her wings and try other jobs. For the last 13 years she worked in the medical billing world - the last 9 years with Quick Med Claims LLC. It was a job that allowed her to work from home and care for her dear Mother Joyce when Joyce was fighting her cancer battle. Kim excelled at the company, and worked for them until her own cancer fight was too much. She had so many interests and wonderful dreams. She loved Scotland and Ireland and anything Celtic. She and her Mom traveled to Scotland many years ago on an unforgettable Mother/Daughter trip. Then, as a blessing for her 50th birthday, she and a group of friends all traveled to Ireland and Scotland to celebrate her milestone birthday. She worked for almost a year planning the trip down to the hour. She was so happy and tickled that she was able to do the Islanders Workshop Experience in Dublin, where she was able to make her own Islander Carloway backpack - she was able to select the Harris Tweed and leather color of her choice and make her backpack - her favorite souvenir from her 50th birthday trip. Kimberly was an avid reader and an aspiring author. For many years she was in writers clubs in Charlotte, NC and Greenville, SC. She would travel once a month to these clubs. There she got to meet authors, discuss, fellowship and share the delicious homemade treats she had made while they were discussing the books each other were working on. In the most recent years her hobby/dream was an in home bakery - "By Grace". She absolutely loved making cupcakes, cakes, cookies and desserts - and she was really great at it. Kimberly wasn't afraid to branch out and try anything from a new job, to a new business idea of her own, to remodeling houses. She had no fear and would attempt anything with her willpower and mindset. On April 14, 2024 Kimberly gave her life to Christ and was baptized at Saint's Delight Church. It was a beautiful service and she was baptized in the same baptistry pool as her Grandfather H.L. Hawks and her Father and Mother ~ a wonderful gift of salvation she shares with her family. She is survived by her devoted brother, Chris Spear and wife Amy; her cherished, precious, loved, loyal and light of her life niece Elizabeth Spear (Her Sweet P); her beloved Aunt Jeanette and Uncle Andy Slater; her loving and special cousin "sister" Michele Mankey (Joe); her two fur babies Darby and Emery who have been her whole world for years and are lost and heartbroken without their Mommy; and her best friend and travel partner for many years Madeline Bates. Madeline didn't know what life was like to have a sister until she became Kim's friend and essentially our family. Kim is also survived by a host of wonderful friends. She has the most supportive and amazing friends we have ever experienced. These last few months we couldn't have done it without their love, support, caring and prayers. She was preceded in death by her parents Joyce Ann Spear and Bobby Wayne Spear; her maternal grandparents Ozia and H.L Hawks; her paternal grandparents Mary and Thomas Spear; and her charismatic and outgoing cousin Michael Slater. A graveside service will be held on November 21, 2025 at 2pm at Saint's Delight Primitive Baptist Church, 4655 Saint's Delight Church Road, Kernersville NC 27284. In lieu of Flowers Kimberly asked for donations or memorials to be made to the Saint's Delight Cemetery Fund. They need to be sent in the care of Terry Motsinger, 270 Motsinger Drive, Winston Salem, NC 27107
