Kitty Mccollum

Colfax – Mrs. Kitty McCollum, 73, passed away Saturday, October 27, 2018 at her home with her family after an extended illness. She was born November 14, 1944 in Guilford County to the late Chester and Alma Shields Westmoreland. Kitty was employed and retired from Guilford County School System. She was loved and affectionately known as “Miss Kitty” by many children at Colfax Elementary School, where she worked for 30 years. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother; Bruce Westmoreland.

Surviving are; her loving husband of 55 years; Howard McCollum, daughter; Amber Davis (Barry), a granddaughter; Tara, four sisters; Shirley Frazier, JoAnn Frazier, Teeny Quick, Maxine Woodruff (Bud), and one brother; Sonny Westmoreland (Lynne).

The family will receive friends from 5-7 PM Tuesday evening, October 30, 2018 at Hayworth-Miller Kernersville Chapel, Following a private family memorial service. In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to Hospice of the Piedmont, 1801 Westchester Drive High Point, NC 27262.
