Krishan "Kris" Bhalla

Mr. Krishan (Kris) Dev Bhalla, was laid to rest May 29, 2019.  Kris was born in, what is considered now Pakistan, in India, prior to the partition, on September 25, 1945.  Kris earned his doctorate degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Waterloo in Waterloo, Canada.  Kris enjoyed health and exercise, watching Bollywood and Hollywood films (often “Google”-ing or “Alexa”-ing information about the actors and actresses), telling old stories of growing up, being around his family and friends, and definitely, marching to the beat of his own tune.  No one could tell Kris anything different.  Kris is preceded in death by his parents Harbans and Lal Bhalla, and his sister, Chandre Satija.  Kris is survived by his wife, Urmil Bhalla; son, Jatindra Bhalla, his wife, Angela Bhalla, and granddaughters Raena, Avanni, and Melena; daughter Anita Greene, her husband, Bill Greene, and grandson, Alex; and daughter Angeli and Granddog, Archer, whom he loved to give toast with butter to, every time he saw him.  A small ceremony will be held for the family at Hayworth-Miller Funeral Homes in Winston Salem, NC on Saturday, June 1, 2019.  A celebration for his life will follow at his residence in Winston Salem.
