Lacy Venable

Dr. Lacy Morgan “Tom” Venable, 91, passed away Friday, November 30, 2018, at Kernersville Medical Center.  He was born in Surry County to the late Grady Samuel Venable and Bessie Susan Wall Venable.  Tom was a member of Mount Pleasant United Methodist Church.  In addition to his parents, Tom was preceded in death by three brothers: Bill, Romey, and John; and one sister, Ruby.  He is survived by one brother, Raymond; one sister, Stella; 18 nieces and nephews; 25 great-nieces and nephews; 25 great-great-nieces and nephews; one granddaughter, and two great-grandchildren.  A funeral service will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 4, 2018, at Hayworth-Miller Rural Hall Chapel with the Rev. Eric Tang officiating.  The family will receive friends from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Monday, December 3, at the funeral home.  Flowers will be accepted, or memorials may be made to Mount Pleasant United Methodist Church, 4700 Old Walkertown Road, Winston-Salem, NC 27105. The family would like to extend special thanks to Tom's caregiver, Roberto Ramos.
