LaDonna Frances Dudley

On November 19, 2014, LaDonna Frances Dudley passed from this life to become an Angel for the Lord.

LaDonna was born in Washington, D.C. in the year of 1953, on January 5th, to John Walter Lackey, Sr. and Ursula Elaine Campbell. She was raised in Washington, D.C. and then transcended to West Virginia and completed high school. She continued her formal education and received a degree in Civil Engineering at West Virginia Institute of Technology. On August 23, 1971, she married Richard Lee Houchins, Sr. From that union two children were born, Richard II and Kymberli. She was a member of New Birth Worship Center where she volunteered with the food pantry and missionary committee; she also was part of the Inspirational Ministry choir for a moment. She loved movies, reading and her computer games. But her biggest love of all was her family!

She was preceded in death by her father and mother.

Her family holds her near and dear in their hearts! She leaves behind her son, Richard Lee Houchins II and wife Tia of Washington, D.C., her daughter, Kymberli Rene Stover and husband Dwayne of Winston-Salem; her grandchildren, Jalen, Morgan and Jordan; her brothers, John Walter Lackey Jr. of Woodbridge, VA, and Michael D. Lackey of Columbus, OH; her sister, Jada Watkins and husband Anthony of Adina, MI; her aunts, Stella Isom of Flint, MI, Betty Fullum of Columbus, OH, and Teresa Jordan of Winston-Salem, NC; and her uncle, Ralph Dudley of St. Albans, WV.

A Celebration of LaDonna's Life will be held Monday, November 24, 2014 at 12 pm at New Birth Worship Center, 1033 New Birth Lane, East Bend, NC 27018, with Rev. James Hunt officiating. The family will receive friends 1 hour prior to the service from 11 am - 12 pm. Burial will follow the service in the church cemetery.

LaDonna will be especially remembered for her kind heart, her quick wit, her spirit of adventure and her tireless works with her daycare, The Learning Place. You were a beautiful Christian…a special Angel you are. Jesus has chosen a very beautiful rose from His garden. So happy God shared you with us…
