Lane R. Walsh

Mr. Lane Walsh, 82, passed away Monday, May 4, 2015 at his home in Lindale, TX. Mr. Walsh was born in Wilkes County, NC one of seven children. He attended Mt. Pleasant High School and graduated in 1951. His class is one on the few who still have class reunions to the present day. His career with Salem Carpet Mills took him from Winston-Salem to Raleigh, Chicago, IL and Dallas, TX where he spent the last 40+ years of his life. Mr. Walsh always stayed in touch with his family, coming home at least twice a year and spending a vacation week at Holden Beach with 20-25 family members for the past 25 years. He was fortunate to have the love of two soulmates during his lifetime. His first wife Bonnie who produced two wonderful daughters for him and preceded him in death and his present wife Linda who has walked beside him and held his hand for the past 24 years. Lane served his country in the United States Air Force in the early 50's and attended Appalachian State University after his military service. Surviving are his wife, Linda and her two children, Tammy and Troy Ragsdale of Texas; his two daughters, Kim Brown and Robin Motsinger of Winston-Salem; two brothers, James Walsh of High Point and Gene Walsh of Winston-Salem. He also leaves behind seven grandchildren of whom he was so proud. Lane will be a great loss to his family and friends. A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, May 15, 2015 at Hayworth-Miller Lewisville Chapel with Pastor Don Hackett officiating.
