Larry Burton

Winston-Salem – In memory of Larry Parker Burton, 68, who passed away on Thursday, January 12, 2023, at his home. He was born on October 23, 1954, in Forsyth County to the late Ernest Parker and Dorothy Eaton Burton. Larry was known for his love of music: listening, playing, and teaching. Larry was especially proud of his music students he taught. If you didn’t see an instrument in his hand, you would for sure find the bible there.

In addition to his parents, Larry was preceded in death by an infant sister, Carolyn Mae Burton.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 43 years, Teresa Sparks Burton, of the home; a grandson, Aaron Burton, of the home; three children, Sarah Bochilis (Jason), Lucas Burton (Lisa), and Christopher Burton; a special son, Derek Pruitt; four other grandchildren, Micah, Liam, Eamon, and Adalyn; and two sisters, Shirley Martin (David), and Sharon Winters (Allen).

A memorial service will be held 3:00 PM, Sunday, January 15, 2023, at Hayworth-Miller Kernersville Chapel with Rev. Donnie Bowman and Rev. Roger Motsinger officiating. The family will receive friends from 2:00 – 2:45 PM prior to the service.
