Mr. Larry Claude Harmon, 69, of Lexington passed away Monday, June 19, 2017 at Alston Brook Nursing Home. He was born June 18, 1948 in Forsyth County to Claude Elijah and Catherine Violet Colvard Harmon. Mr. Harmon was a member of Reedy Creek Baptist Church where he was a deacon. He also was a veteran of the United States Army having served in the Vietnam Conflict. He worked for Big Star Grocery for 24 years, and then retired from Lowes Foods after many years of service. He loved playing golf and pulling for his favorite football team the Washington Redskins. Mr. Harmon was preceded in death by his parents, one brother Chris Harmon. He is survived by his loving wife of 38 years Burta Harmon of the home, one sister Mrs. Deborah Barton and husband Philipp of Clemmons, one brother Tim Harmon and wife Janet of Clemmons, a nephew John Harmon of Clemmons, and a host of special nieces and nephews surviving. A funeral service will be conducted Thursday June 22, 2017 at 2:00 P.M. at Reedy Creek Baptist Church with Pastor Egbert Craven, Jr. officiating. Burial will follow at the church cemetery.
