Larry Lester Brandon

Mr. Larry Lester Brandon, 85, of Clemmons, NC, entered the presence of his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Wednesday, January 21, 2026.

Larry was born one of fifteen, on July 29, 1940, in Forsyth County to the late Mr. William Franklin Brandon and Mrs. Lucinda Lawrence Brandon. He graduated in 1958 from Southwest Forsyth High School. There he was a part of the Future Farmers of America Club where he made countless memories and competed with his cow, Harv and the twin calves.

He worked as a Meat Market Manager at Kroger Company; he began working there when he was just 15 years old as a bag boy. He went on to retire with 42 years of service. After retirement, he worked at Black Box as a technician.

Larry was married for over 65 years to his loving wife, Carolyn. Together they shared countless memories and built a family structured on faith and love. He was a long time, faithful member of Boyer’s Church of Christ, where he served many roles as an Elder, Song Leader and Treasurer.

Faith played a meaningful role in Larry’s life, and he passed that devotion on to his children through his strong walk with Jesus. He adored his family, lived humbly, and could always be counted on to bring a smile through his jokes and quick wit.

He was an Assistant Scout Master of Boy Scout Troop #736, a member of Clemmons Masonic Lodge #755, and was also a part of the Shriners Club. These organizations reflected his commitment to service, fellowship, and helping others.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in passing by his eight brothers and five sisters.

He will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Carolyn Davis Brandon; two sons, Mark Brandon (Dalena) and Tony Brandon (Donna); two daughters, Lisa Brandon (Bryan Houriet) and Jill Whitaker (Darren); 8 grandchildren, Christina, Cole, Mackenzie (Daniel), Jacquelyn, Sydney, Courtney, Scott, and Cameron; one great grandson, Hudson; one brother, Wayne Brandon (Gwenda); and a host of extended family.

A funeral service for Mr. Brandon will be held on Wednesday, January 28, 2026, beginning at 2:00pm at Hayworth-Miller Kinderton Chapel with Joel Morris officiating. The family will receive friends an hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Westlawn Gardens of Memory.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Liberty Hospice Care of Thomasville, 5 E. Main Street, Thomasville, NC 27360, and the Alzheimer's Association, P.O. Box 96011, Washington, DC, 20090.
