Larry Wayne Mabe

Mr. Larry Wayne Mabe, 76, went to be with the Lord on Friday, May 9, 2025, at Forsyth Medical Center. He was born February 1, 1949, in Forsyth County, the son of Frank and Clara Kiser Mabe. Larry received Christ at the age of 10 at Woodland Baptist Church and was a faithful member of Gospel Light Baptist Church for 57 years. At Gospel Light, Larry sang in the choir and had been involved in the Bus Ministries. He had worked at Bahnson, Qualified Metal Fabricators and Carolina Steel. Larry enjoyed fishing, golf, hunting, his dogs and metal detecting. Larry was devoted to his family and was a loving, caring and honest man. Faithful to his family, Larry worked extra jobs so that his children would have a Christian education. He is preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Jimmy and Ricky Mabe. Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Linda Mabe; a daughter, Renee Mabe of Chattanooga, TN.; a son, Rev. Jeff Mabe (Christy) of Lexington; six grandchildren, Caleb Mabe (Josie), Charity Mabe, Christian Mabe, Jordan Mabe, Esther Taylor (Jay) and Victoria Mabe; a great grandchild, Malachi Taylor; a sister, Shirley Carson and several nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held at 2 PM Wednesday, May 14, 2025, at Gospel Light Baptist Church with Rev. Frank Shumate, Pastor Steve Roberson and Rev. Jeff Mabe officiating. Burial will follow in Oaklawn Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church. Memorial donations may be made to Gospel Light Baptist Church, 890 Walkertown Gutherie Rd, Winston-Salem, NC 27101. Hayworth-Miller Kernersville Chapel is assisting the family.
