Mr. Larry Richard Spease, 59, of Winston Salem, N.C. passed away suddenly on Thursday, March 28, 2019. He was born in Davie County on November 10, 1959 to the late Richard Gray Spease and Faye Naylor Spease. Larry retired from Forsyth Medical Center with 18 years of service as an anesthesia assistant. He enjoyed tinkering with mechanical parts and electrical appliances. Larry spent many years caring for his mother and father, other family members, and neighbors. Larry was preceded in death by his uncles, Carl Edward Spease “Uncle Ed”, Roy Alton Spease “Uncle Bud”, Lester Franklin Naylor, and Carlie Clinton Renegar and aunt, Dorothy Reavis Naylor. Larry is survived by his brothers, William Spease (Karen), Brian Spease (Missy); nephews, Richard Spease (Rebekah), Seth Spease and fiancé McKenzie Purtell, John Spease (Taylor), and Aaron Spease (Alley); a great niece, Elizabeth Spease; and very special aunts, Eula Spease and Geneva Renegar. A graveside service will be held at 3:00 PM on Monday, April 1, 2019 at Boyers Chapel Church of Christ on Peace Haven Road in Winston-Salem, with Pastor Steve Fowler officiating. Family and friends are invited to gather at the home of Brian and Missy Spease following the service. The family wants to thank the Forsyth Medical Emergency Department doctors and nurses. In lieu of flowers the family request a donation to be made to the North Carolina Food Bank, 3655 Reed St., Winston-Salem, NC 27127.
