Larry Gray Stewart

Larry Gray Stewart, 62, of Clemmons passed from this life to his new perfect life Tuesday, November 5, 2013 at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home. He was born March 22, 1951 in Surry County to Roland W. Stewart and Opal H. Stewart. Larry was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church where he sang in the choir, was an usher, and served God, through His church, in many ways. Through the years Larry taught himself to read, learned to speed skate and swim, enjoyed weight lifting, and always had a special heart for babies and young children. His father, Roland Stewart, preceded Larry in death. Left to cherish his memory is his devoted mother, Opal Stewart; sister, Marlyce Vaughn (Randy) of Clemmons; nieces, Amy Creighton(Matt) of Hickory, Katie Cunningham (Ben) of Granite Falls; nephew, Brent Vaughn of Greensboro; great nephews, Taran and Connor Creighton; great niece, Linley Creighton, and several other family members who dearly loved Larry. A service to remember Larry will be held 3:00PM Friday, November 8, 2013 at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel with Pastor L.C. Taylor, Pastor Jason Holley and Philip Smith, Larry's cousin, officiating. Visitation with the family will take place two hours before the service from 1:00-3:00. Entombment will be at Westlawn Garden of Memory in Clemmons. The family's special gratitude goes to the staff at Bermuda Commons and the Palliative Care Unit at Forsyth Medical Center for their loving care.
