Larry Hugh Welch

Larry Hugh Welch went to be with his Lord and Savior on Sunday, February 8, at Trellis Supportive Care.

He was born in Winston-Salem and lived here all of his life. He was a graduate of Mineral Springs High School and spent two years serving his country in the Army.

Larry’s career of 66 years was that of a propane salesman all over the southeast. His job was one that required him to take his clients to dinner and play a lot of golf. He made many good friends during that time and kept in touch with most until his health failed.

He was a dedicated member of Clemmons Presbyterian Church and especially enjoyed the Men’s Fellowship Breakfast. Larry also enjoyed breakfast at Pete’s Family Restaurant with a special group of friends.

He is survived by his wife, Anne; son, Jeff (Lori); stepsons, Mark and Matt Smith; and grandsons, Landon Welch and Luke Smith.

A memorial service will be held 11am Saturday, February 21, 2026, at Clemmons Presbyterian Church. Larry requests that the men do not wear a tie. He hated them!
