LaRue McGee Green

Ms. LaRue McGee Green, 81, of Belews Creek, NC, went home to be with her Lord on Saturday, December 17, 2016 at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home. She was born on January 12, 1935 in Forsyth County to Herbert L. and Hattie Savage McGee. Ms. Green retired from Sun Trust Bank in Roanoke Virginia after many years of faithful service. She later retired after 14 years from Deluxe Check Printers in Greensboro, NC. She was a member of First Baptist Church Kernersville where she was active in the choir. Ms. Green was an avid North Carolina Tar Heels and Atlanta Braves fan. Ms. Green also had a love for all of the beautiful birds in her yard which she fed for many years. She was preceded in death by her beloved cats, Yellow Cat, Chipper, and George Michael. Ms. Green is survived by one brother, Raymond McGee and wife Rachel of Kernersville; many nieces and nephews; and good friends. A funeral service for Ms. Green will be held at 2:00 pm on Tuesday, December 20, 2016 at Hayworth-Miller Kernersville Chapel with Dr. Stephen Martin officiating. Interment will follow the service at Antioch United Methodist Church Cemetery in Belews Creek. The family will receive friends from 1:00 pm until 1:45 pm prior to the service. Memorials be made to Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home at 101 Hospice Lane, Winston-Salem, NC 27101. Hayworth-Miller Kernersville is assisting the family.
