Mr. Lawrence Ray Moser, Sr., of Winston-Salem, passed away Saturday, December 28, 2013 at Forsyth Medical Center. He was born February 28, 1927 on the Moser Farm in Lewisville. He was the son of Thomas Lawrence and Grace Norman Moser. He played basketball and was a graduate of Lewisville High School, class of 1944. He served in the U.S. Army of Ft. Monmouth, NJ and Ft. Bliss, TX. Mr. Moser retired from IBM after 35 years of service, including 2 years in Frankfurt, Germany. For the last 30 years, he and his wife traveled extensively with the Carolina's Unit of the Airstream Club. He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother, Norman Moser and a sister, Kathryn Dorse and husband Bahnson. Surviving are his loving wife of 66 years, Peggy Lee Jones Moser; two sons, Larry Moser and wife Monnie of Kernersville and Tommy Moser of Clemmons; a grandson, Alex Moser of Clemmons; three sisters-in-law, Erline Wright, Mary Hege and husband Joe of Winston-Salem and Di-Ann Moser of Lewisville and several nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, December 31, 2013 at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek with Rev. Charles Fishel officiating. Entombment will follow in the Westlawn Gardens of Memory Mausoleum. There is no stated visitation.
