Lawrence W. Wilson, Jr., 89, of Fort Edward, NY, went peacefully to be with the Lord on May 18, 2026.
He was born March 17, 1937 in Saranac Lake to Lawrence Wales Wilson, Sr. and Clara Curran Wilson. Larry (Willie) retired from the U.S. Air Force, where he proudly served for 20 years. While in the military, he received many awards for Merit (leadership) and also served in the Vietnam War. He worked for the Stillwater Central School District in the janitorial department and at McDonald's until late December 2025.
People who met Larry found him to always have a smile on his face, be strong-willed, fun, and ready to work on any home project. He was a dedicated and beloved husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He loved spending time with his family and friends and enjoyed old country music. One of his favorite pastimes was chasing the kiddos around on his riding lawn mower. He loved being with his daughter and son-in-law, who provided his care.
Larry was predeceased by his wife Barbara Wilson, his parents Lawrence and Clara Wilson and his sister Patricia McBride. He is survived by his daughter Larrilyn (Walt), and sons John Wilson (Nell) and Randal Wilson, a brother Gregory Wilson and sisters Rita Foster and Kathy Kronchina, many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Funeral to be held at a later date will be at the Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery in Schuylerville, NY.
