Lawrence Curtis Yow, Jr

Lawrence Curtis “Larry” Yow, Jr, 72, passed away on April 24, 2025, at Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist Hospital. He was born on September 28, 1952, to Lawrence Curtis Yow, Sr and Joan Pfaff Yow in Forsyth County. Following graduation from Parkland High School (class of ’70) Larry attended NC State. He went on to earn a bachelor’s degree from Wake Forest University. On July 8, 1978, he married the love of his life, Ann Marie Marsh Yow. Many in Winston-Salem will remember Larry’s photography business, Yow Studios. Larry was preceded in death by his wife, and his father. Surviving are his mother, Joan Pfaff Yow; brother, Al Yow (Susan); nephew, Rodney Yow (Miranda); niece, Kendra Wolfe (Brandon); 4 great nephews; 4 great nieces; and his precious feline companions, Zhin Zhin, Ling Ling, Izzy and Sassy. The family extends special thanks to caregivers, Rodney (nephew), Melissa, Gina, Melanie, and Kasondra. A funeral service will be held at 2PM, Friday, May 2, 2025, at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel with Pastor Brandon Wolfe officiating. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. The burial will follow at Parklawn Memorial Park. Memorials may be made to Forsyth County Humane Society.
