Leatrice Bernal

Mrs. Leatrice Diane Mahaffey Bernal, 64, passed away on Friday, August 24, 2018 at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home. She was born in Forsyth County on March 20, 1954 to Jake Mahaffey and Barbara Ann Ellis Haneline. Leatrice loved to color in her coloring books and do crossword puzzles. She enjoyed playing cards, fishing, and going to the beach. Leatrice and her grandkids would often bake cookies and cakes together. She especially loved her Chihuahua, Roxie. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ben Beane; sister, Kathy; and step-father, John Haneline. Surviving family includes her daughter, Maranda Ramirez; grandchildren, Silvestre (21), Midajah (17) and Faith (13); three brothers, Ricky, Johnny and Eddie; two sisters, Tammy and Cindy; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. A funeral service will be held at 7:00 PM on Tuesday, August 28, 2018 at Hayworth-Miller Chapel. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at Hayworth-Miller.
