Mr. Leighton Reece McGill, 87 of Bermuda Run, passed away Wednesday, October 17, 2018.  He was born January 18, 1931 in Cumberland County to the late Walter and Estelle Buie McGill.  He is survived by his wife, Mary Jo McGill; and two daughters, Kathryn A. McGill of Boise Idaho, and Karin Caskey (Brad Windle) of Richmond, VA.  Leighton graduated from Davidson College, and spent his entire career working for AT&T, where he excelled at leading and managing people.  He enjoyed spending time with his family and was also an avid golfer and reader. He was an excellent chef and enjoyed cooking and entertaining among family and friends. After retirement, he stayed quite busy, volunteering with SCORE (Service Corps of Retired Executives), helping many new and upcoming entrepreneurs. He was very active within his retirement community, and was part of several committees, involving golf, and dining. He loved his children, grandchildren (Maddie, Ben, Tyler, and Jacob), friends, and most of all, his partner, wife and best friend, Mary Jo. His enthusiastic spirit, intellectual curiosity, and love of life will be missed by all who knew him.  A memorial service will be conducted at 3:00 PM Sunday, October 21, 2018 at Clemmons Presbyterian Church by Dr. William Hoyle.  The family will receive friends following the service.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Clemmons Presbyterian Church, 3930 Clemmons Rd.
