Leon Barnard Rivers

Walkertown – Leon Barnard Rivers, 86, passed away on Tuesday, May 27, 2025, at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born on August 11, 1938, in Chesterfield County, SC to the late Virginia Mae and Fred Rivers, Jr. Leon proudly served his country in the United States Navy. He was a hard worker, which he owned and operated Piedmont Tool and Manufacturing Company along with his wife for 20 years. Leon enjoyed his time farming with animals, as well as gardening, and would always have a garden every year. He loved to restore cars, hunt, fish, golf, and was a huge Duke basketball fan. Leon had a passion for many things, but none greater than the love for his family. He will surely be missed by all his family and friends.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife, Peggy Ann Rivers; and two sisters, Fredra Robertson, and Janice Moore.

Those left to cherish his memory are his daughter, Donna Ann Eulberg (John); son, David Leon Rivers; five grandchildren, Justin (Kayleigh) May, Sabrina, and Joseph Eulberg, Kasey, and Hailey Rivers; two great grandchildren, Amelia and Diana; brother, Harry “Mickey” Mitchell Rivers (Phyllis); sister, Vanessa Burchette (Alan); and numerous nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held at 1:00pm, Monday, June 2, 2025, at Gardens of Memory Mausoleum – Walkertown with Pastor Gary Styers officiating. 

Hayworth-Miller Kernersville Chapel is assisting the family.
