Leonard Bean

Mr. Leonard Reeves Bean, 78, passed away on Wednesday, November 14, 2018 at Accordius Health of Clemmons. He was born on February 12, 1940 in Yadkin County to John Floyd and Mattie Lee Spillman Bean. Leonard was a Veteran of the United States Navy. He retired from Piedmont Airlines after 35 years of faithful service. Leonard enjoyed fishing and was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather.

In addition to his parents, Leonard was proceeded in death by his brother, Michael Wayne Bean. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Nancy Shelton Bean; two daughters, Crystal Evans (Stephen Hartman) and Jennifer Bower (Larry); three grandchildren, Tiffany Evans, Brittany Kuhl (Allen), and Harley Hartman; two great grandchildren, Gabriel Kuhl and Atiana Kuhl; four siblings, Johnny Beane, Frances Hylton, Brenda Spease, and Charles Bean (Judy); and many nieces and nephews.

A graveside funeral service for Leonard will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, November 17, 2018 at Saints Delight Primitive Baptist Church in Kernersville. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Saints Delight Cemetery Fund care of Terry Motsinger, 270 Motsinger Drive, Winston-Salem, NC 27107.
