KERNERSVILLE – Mr. Leslie C. Anderson, 90, went home to be with his Lord on Thursday, December 13, 2018. Leslie was born in Premier, West Virginia on February 6, 1928 to the late Bill and Dora Anderson. He was a member of Marshall Baptist Church, where he was a teacher, van driver, choir member, and speaker at Knollwood Nursing home for 4 years. Leslie was a Veteran of the US Army and retired from Roadway Trucking as a truck driver with 32-1/2 years of service. He was a foster parent from 1987-2006, fostering 150 children. This was a ministry that he and his wife enjoyed tremendously. Leslie was a loving husband, dad, pawpaw, great grandpa, and great great grandpa.

In addition to his parents, Leslie was preceded in death by two brothers, Oliver and Jimmy; and five sisters, Kathy, Eunice, Nora Louise, Faye, and Helen.

Surviving are his beloved wife of 37 years, Shirley Anderson; three daughters, Mindy Anderson Childress, Rhonda Clarke (Donald), and Gail McRae (Larry); three sons, Leslie Anderson Jr. (Ida), David Anderson (Christy), Todd Whitt (Joyce); 14 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; and one great, great grandchild; two sisters Hilda Absher, and Joy Roberts (Larry).

A funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, December 16, 2018 at Marshall Baptist Church with Pastor John Holmes officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2:00 – 2:45 pm prior to the service at the church.
