Mr. Leslie “Les” Paul Zerbe, 78, passed away Wednesday, April 30, 2025, at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home. He was born in Crosby, North Dakota on June 17, 1946, to the late Ludwig Zerbe and Lorraine Adams Zerbe. Les was a faithful servant to the Lord. He was a unique missionary bush pilot. In addition, he was a loving husband for almost 57 years. In his spare time Les enjoyed hunting, especially moose to feed his family, bears for the challenge, and wrote his own book entailing many episodes of his life. Les was known as a strong patriot and loved his country very much. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his sister, Janeen. Les is survived by his loving wife of almost 57 years, Jane Zerbe; four children, Michelle Zerbe, Carol Zerbe, Jarrod Zerbe (Claudia), and Nathan Zerbe (Laurel); seven grandchildren, Thomas, Susanna, Bridget, Stephen, Naomi, Raine, and Alizabeth; his brother, Stephen Zerbe; and one sister, Sheryl Metz (Jerry). A funeral service will be conducted 2:00PM Monday May 5, 2025 at Marshall Baptist Church with Rev. John Holmes officiating. The family will receive friends following the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Central Missionary Clearinghouse, PO Box 219228, Houston, TX, 77218-9228.
