Mr. Lewis W. Cutright, 90, of Winston-Salem, peacefully went to be with our Lord on Wednesday, November 8, 2017. He was born on July 27, 1927, in Elkins, WV, to Orra Odbert and Ida Jane Loving Cutright. Lewis married the love of his life in 1951 and moved to Winston-Salem in 1953. He received his degree in Accounting from Strayer University of Washington, DC, and furthered his education in Municipal Administration at the Institute of Government of the University at Chapel Hill. Lewis initially held the position of property controls officer, working in the real estate and properties division of the city's finance department. He moved into a position as the city secretary- assistant to the city manager, and ultimately transitioned to the role of ABC Administrator of which he retired. After retirement he and his wife moved near Harpers Island, where they enjoyed fishing and boating. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife, Betty Cutright. Left to cherish his memories are two sons, Steven (LuAnn) Cutright of Walkertown and William Cutright of Charlotte; one daughter, Susan (Aaron) Cronland of Lincolnton; three grandchildren, Diana Barker, Jason Cutright and Morgan Cutright; and three great-grandchildren, Brantly Barker, Rhett Cutright and Madalyn Cutright. A graveside service will be held at 3:00 pm on Sunday, November 12, 2017, at Forsyth Memorial Park with Dr. Rick Speas officiating. A reception will be held after the service at Old Town Baptist Church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Old Town Baptist Church, 4386 Shattalon Drive, Winston-Salem, NC 27106.
