Lillian Frances Hite Owens

Mrs. Lillian Frances Hite Owens, 79, passed away Sunday, August 31, 2008 at Forsyth Medical Center. She was born in Amelia County, Virginia to the late Walter Pete and Willie Sue Jones. Mrs. Owens was a member of Crews United Methodist Church where she sang in the choir. She loved her home life especially spending time with her family and her church. She was very loving and compassionate towards animals. Preceding her in death were her parents; her adopted parents, Sammy and Betty Lee Hite; four sisters and three brothers. Surviving is her husband of 57 years, Calvin Owens; son, Kim Owens and wife Charlene of Walkertown; daughter, Kara Rich and husband, Eddie of Kernersville; three grandchildren, Jessica Whitfield, William and Samuel Owens; also surviving are several nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be conducted 11:00 Wednesday, September 3, 2008 at Crews United Methodist Church with Rev. Brian Crady officiating. Burial will follow at the church cemetery. The family will receive friends 6-8 PM Tuesday at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Crews United Methodist Church 4150 Reidsville Rd. Winston-Salem, NC 27101 or to the American Diabetes Association PO Box 1132, Fairfax, Virginia 22038. The family would like to send a special thanks to the staff at the TICU of Forsyth Medical Center for the care they gave to Mrs. Owens.
