Linda Boor McKain

Mrs. Linda Lou Boor McKain, 81, of Advance, NC, passed away on Wednesday, May 21, 2025, at Forsyth Medical Center. She was born the youngest of six children to the late Oren Eddy Boor and Mary Naomi Boor on June 29, 1943, in Grant Town, WV. On September 8, 1962, Linda married her high school sweetheart, James Carroll McKain. They moved to Bucyrus, OH, where Linda began her career with Timken Roller Bearing Company and later retired after 30 years of service. In May 2000, after both Jim and Linda’s retirement from Timken they relocated to Advance, NC.

Linda was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Donald (Rose) Boore and John (Romona) Boore; and three sisters and brothers-in-law, Nancy (Bud) West, Lila (Bob) Mercer, and Doris (Jack) Binnix. She is survived by her loving husband of 62 years, James Carroll “Jim” McKain; daughter, Beverly J. Funderburk (Terry) of Advance, NC; son, James P. “Jim” McKain (Dani) of Upper Sandusky, OH; four granddaughters, Katherine Funderburk Vogler (Robert) of Lewisville, NC, Kennedy McKain of Cleveland, OH, Curran McKain of Harrogate, TN and Claire Funderburk of Nashville, TN; several nieces and nephews and numerous cousins. Linda will be laid to rest on Saturday, July 26, 2025 at 12:00 PM in Beverly Hills Memorial Gardens in Morgantown, WV. The family will receive friends following the graveside service.
