Linda James Bovender

Linda James Bovender, 82, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, May 10, 2025. She was born on September 13, 1942, in Forsyth County to the late Thomas James and Ruby Wagner James. Mrs. Bovender graduated from Lees-McRae College and Appalachian State University. She also studied music at St. Louis Institute of Music. She retired as a teacher with the Winston-Salem Forsyth County Schools having taught at Old Town Elementary. Mrs. Bovender was a member of Bethania Moravian Church. Preceding her in death was her son, Richard Edmund Bovender, and her aunt and uncle, Mr. and Mrs. RZ “Buddie” Wagner. Surviving are her loving husband of 60 years, Richard Bovender ; son, Thomas Burke Bovender (Tonya); daughter, Lori Faye Bovender; three grandchildren, Audra Bovender (Nicholas), Tally Bovender, and Stella Bovender; also surviving is a special daughter-in-love, Catherine MacLaren. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 PM Thursday, May 15, 2025, at Bethania Moravian Church Graveyard with Rev. Linda Seippel officiating. A reception will follow the graveside service in the church fellowship hall. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Bethania Moravian Church, 5545 Main St. Bethania, NC 27010.
