Mrs. Linda Lou Butcher Earp, 75, passed away on Thursday March 5, 2026, at Forsyth Medical Center. She was born on June 14, 1950, in Mount Airy, NC to the late Loraine Freida Fleming Butcher. Linda retired from the reservations department of U.S. Air after many years of service. She then became a teacher’s assistant at Rural Hall Elementary School. In her spare time, Linda enjoyed reading, traveling, especially going on cruises with her family, and participating in family game nights. Most of all, she loved spending time with her grandchildren, which often included watching her granddaughter perform on stage and watching movies with her grandson. In addition to her mother, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Horton Earp, her son Carson Earp, and her brothers, Ronald Butcher and Dennis Butcher. Linda is survived by her daughters, Danielle Germini (Matthew) and Emily Southern (Dustin), her grandchildren, Julia Friel and Porter Southern, her brother, Roger Butcher, her sister, Ronda Mayberry (Jerry), her nieces, Denise Cheek and Lily Jackson, and nephew River (Onna) Jackson. A private graveside service will be held for the family. A celebration of Life will be held from 4:00-7:00 PM on Tuesday March 10, 2026, at Sto. Co. Provisions in King, NC.
