Linda Sue Fowler Hayes

Linda Sue Fowler Hayes passed away at home on January 15, 2014. She was born February 21, 1950 in Miami Shores, Florida, to Evelyn Simpson Fowler and Howard Thomas Fowler, and grew up in Miami Springs, Florida. She attended and graduated from Miami Springs High School. Her passion was horses and enjoyed riding and showing them. In 1968, she moved to Charlotte, NC, her family's hometown. Linda is survived by her loving husband of 25 years, James E. Hayes, Jr., of Tobaccoville; her stepdaughter, Ashley Hayes-Smith; her son-in-law, Steve Smith, and their daughter, Rebekah Smith, all of High Point and her sister-in-law, Ellen Hayes of Winston-Salem; a sister and brother-in-law, Patricia and Terry Crowell, Salado, Texas; a brother and sister-in-law, Thomas and Lori Fowler; niece Ashley Fowler, and nephew Keith Fowler, of Hialeah, Florida, and many relatives in North Carolina. Linda loved animals and especially working with her horses, Spring and Missy. She always enjoyed the family getting together during the holidays. Linda and Jim loved to travel, and especially to Montana. Linda was an Office Manager for Hayes & Associates, Inc. for 20 years prior to her illness. A graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, January 18, 2014 at Parklawn Memorial Park in Winston-Salem. There is no stated visitation.
