Linda Anne Shore Idol

Linda Anne Shore Idol, 69, of Lewisville passed away unexpectedly early in the morning of Saturday, April 8, 2023, at home. She was born in 1953 in Guilford County, North Carolina to John Robert Shore and Norma Ruth Stetzel Shore. 

Linda grew up in Winston-Salem.  She attended the University of North Carolina at Greensboro for her undergraduate and graduate degrees.  She had a long and meaningful career as an educator with the Winston-Salem/Forsyth County Schools teaching at Rural Hall, Southwest and Morgan Elementary schools. The impact she had on the lives of hundreds of students and the life-long friendships she developed with so many of her colleagues is her professional legacy. 

Surviving is her wonderful husband of 45 years, Anthony “Tony” Idol; her daughters Erin Idol Scott (Blake) of Bermuda Run and Jordan Idol Walker (Clay) of Huntersville; her grandchildren, Kate Scott, Elizabeth “Libby” Scott, Callan Walker, John Robert Scott and Sloan Walker; her furry children, Chewy and Luna; her sister, Deborah Shore White (George) of Sparta and her brother, David Shore of Huntersville and Winston-Salem.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her infant daughter, Evan Leigh Idol.

Her greatest joy was her family and friends and she put them at the center of her life.  Special times for her were holiday planning and entertaining, spending time at their beach house entertaining friends and family, summers watching her children and grandchildren play in the pool, working on her craft hobbies and always looking forward to the next family get together.  She was an amazing wife, mother, grandmother, sister, friend, educator and colleague.  She will truly be missed. 

A Memorial Service will be held at 3:00 on Sunday, April 30^th at Messiah Moravian Church in Winston-Salem. The family will receive friends following the service.  A private graveside service for family will be held at a later date. 

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Linda’s honor to the American Heart Association or Trellis Supportive Care.
