Mrs. Linda Faye Pettigrew Isom, 66, of Winston-Salem passed away Tuesday, June 16, 2015 at Moses Cone Memorial Hospital. She was born April 22, 1949 in Forsyth County to Rozella Sechrest and Pinkney Pettigrew. Mrs. Isom graduated from Parkland High School. She adored children and enjoyed teaching special needs children as a substitute teacher at Piney Grove Elementary School. Dee knew the first day he met Linda that she was the one, and six weeks later they were married. She was a loving wife who enjoyed spending time at the beach and loved hosting pool parties for her grandmother before she passed away. She was preceded in death by her father; one brother, Steve Pettigrew; grandmother, Lucy Sechrest. She is survived by her husband of 43 years, Loyde ""Dee"" Isom of the home; her mother; one sister, Kay Gardner of Glouster, VA; uncle, Paul Sechrest and wife Lib; cousins, Susan Sechrest, Tim and Dawn Sechrest and their children Elizabeth and William; Kristi and Rafael Bugajski and daughter, Lauren Ballance, Wendy and Richard Spriggs and their chidren, Jacob, Noah, Josh, and Mica; special friend, Cheryl Greene; special cousin, Charlotte and Wade Waddell; nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be conducted 2:00 PM Friday, June 19, 2015 at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel with Mr. Randy Isom officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Vietnam Veterans of America, 8719 Colesville Rd., suite 100, Silver Spring, MD, 20910, to Piney Grove Elementary School, 500 Piney Grove Rd, Kernersville, NC 27284, or to the charity of the donor's choice. The family would like to thank all of the wonderful, caring people at the cardiac ICU of Forsyth Medical Center and Select Hospital.
