Linda Jane McCraw Akers

Mrs. Linda Jane McCraw Akers, 76, passed away on Friday, July 24, 2026, at her home in Winston-Salem. She was born on August 2, 1949, in Galax, VA, to the late Jimmie Lindberg McCraw and Gladys Lineberry Jennings. Linda enjoyed going shopping, doing word searches, and going out to eat. She also loved listening to gospel music. Linda adored working with the two-year-old class at Parkview Christian Daycare for 32 years. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles “Bud” Lewis Akers. Linda is survived by two daughters, Sherry Cornett (Curtis), Jeanette Hildebrand (Aaron), three grandsons, Justin Adams (Joy), Brennan Hildebrand (Ava), and Brycelan Hildebrand, three great grandchildren, Austin Adams, Esper Hildebrand, Sierra Davis, two sisters, Jan Fowler and Kimberly Jennings and one sister-in-law, Charlene Isom. The family would like to express a special thank you to Sandra McBride and Mountain Valley Hospice. A graveside service will be held at 2:00pm on Wednesday, July 29th, 2026, at Crestview Memorial Park with Rev. Roger Cook officiating. The family will receive friends from 12:30pm to 1:45pm on Wednesday at Hayworth-Miller Rural Hall Chapel. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Mountain Valley Hospice P.O. box 325 Dobson, NC 27017.
