Lisa Barber Cathey

Ms. Lisa Barber Cathey, 61, of Lewisville, NC, passed away unexpectedly on March 4, 2024, at Wake Forest Baptist Health.   Lisa was born in Forsyth County on November 30, 1962.  She graduated from West Forsyth High School in 1981 and spent 41 years at Wake Forest Baptist Health as a dental assistant and genetic technologist.

 Lisa enjoyed traveling, especially to her “happy place,” Jamaica.  She had dreams to live her life out on the island.  She also had a love for live music.  Tom Petty was her first concert and she saw Toby Keith live numerous times.   Most of all, family and friends were important to Lisa.  She loved creating lasting memories and experiences with the people she loved the most.

 Lisa was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Robert Barber and June Krider Barber and maternal grandparents, Eugene Shaver and Emily Davis Shaver.  She is survived by her daughter, Brandi Lamb and son-in-love, Cody; grandson, Tye; and parents, Krider Barber and Edie Shaver Barber.  Lisa is also survived by numerous others she considered her “babies” and “grand babies” as well as loving friends and caring cousins.

 A celebration of life service will be held at 12pm on Saturday, March 9, 2024, at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel.
