Mrs. Lisa Moss Jones of Advance, NC, passed away at Winston-Salem, NC, on September 4, 2026, following a battle with cancer. She was 65 years old.

Lisa was born on January 2, 1961, in Jackson, MS, to her late parents, Walter Wade and Grace Moss. After living in Jackson for several years, the family moved to the nearby town of Forest where she was raised. She graduated from Forest High School in 1979 and continued her education at Mississippi University for Women. She attended East Central Community College, and in 1982 she earned her Associate in Arts degree. In 1984 she graduated from Mississippi State University where she earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Library Science. After graduation she went to work for the Oktibbeha County Library System in Starkville, MS.

She met her husband, Chris Jones, at First Baptist Church Starkville, and they were married on November 21, 1987. Together they built a life of love and adventure. They lived in the states of Mississippi, California, South Carolina, Washington, and North Carolina.

After moving to California in 1993, Lisa enjoyed being a homemaker. She loved cooking and trying out new recipes from her cooking magazines. She also loved traveling, hiking along the Blue Ridge Parkway, and making quilts for others.

Lisa was a huge baseball fan. She loved her Mississippi State Bulldogs. In her younger days she enjoyed watching baseball games from the Left Field Lounge at Dudy Noble Field. Later in life she loved traveling with Chris to watch major and minor league games all across the United States. Family would often join them at these games.

Lisa was a member of Clemmons First Baptist Church in Clemmons, NC. She was also a member of the Dorcas Sunday School Class where she served as outreach leader.

Lisa was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her husband, Chris Jones, of Advance, NC; her sister, Debbie Moss, of Brandon, MS; her sister-in-law, Patsy Jones, of Bradenton, FL; her brothers, Mikell Moss of Wyoming, and Wade Moss of Forest, MS; her brother-in-law, Jeff Jones, of Greensburg, IN; and several nieces and nephews.

The memorial service will take place on September 10, 2026, at 10:00am at Clemmons First Baptist Church. There will be no graveside service. A private scattering of ashes will take place at a later date.
