Lois Lawson Bennett

Mrs. Lois Lawson Bennett, of Winston-Salem, passed away on Monday, September 10, 2012 at Forsyth Medical Center. She was born in Stokes County on July 30, 1924 to the late Ada Palmer Lawson and Joseph Lenwood Lawson. Mrs. Bennett retired from AT&T with 30 years of service. She was a member of Walnut Cove Primitive Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Bennett was preceded in death by her husband, Garvis Smith Bennett and eight siblings. Surviving are her brother, Charles Lawson and wife, Virginia of Winston-Salem; sister, Katie Southern of Braselton, GA; and several nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Thursday, September 13, 2012 at Hayworth-Miller Rural Hall Chapel with Elder Milton Gunter officiating. Burial will follow at Crestview Memorial Park.
