Lola Alexander Ballard

Mrs. Lola Alexander Ballard, 84, of Winston-Salem, passed away Friday, September 4, 2009. She was born April 20, 1925 in Rockingham County, NH to Jesse and Henrietta Koontz Alexander. Mrs. Ballard was a member of Antioch Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles B. Ballard; one son, Charles A. Ballard and three grandchildren. Surviving are one daughter, Barbara Stafford (Doug) of Winston-Salem; three sons, David Ballard of Lewisville, Claude Ballard (Jayne) of Mobile, AL and Robert Ballard (Debra) of Winston-Salem; ten grandchildren, Melinda Kennedy, Tracy Mohat, Elizabeth Eaton, Caroline Ballard, Jennifer Ballard, Christopher Ballard, Brandon Ballard, Katheryn Ballard, Amy Ballard and Jonathan Stafford and nine great grandchildren. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am Monday, September 7, 2009 at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel with Rev. Neal Eller officiating. Burial will follow in Oaklawn Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 6-8 pm Sunday at the funeral home.
