Lola Dancy

Mrs. Lola Byrd Dancy, 84, passed away on Sunday October 28, 2018 at Oak Forest Health and Rehab. She was born on November 21, 1933 in Wilkes County to Ivan and Elsie Wiles Byrd. Mrs. Dancy was a member of Sedge Garden Baptist Church and retired from Hanes. She was a wonderful wife and mother. Mrs. Dancy enjoyed going to the beach with her granddaughter Brianna and loved visiting the mountains. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband of 58 years, Norman Dancy. Surviving are two sons, Wesley Dancy, Brian Dancy and wife Crystal; granddaughter, Brianna Dancy; a brother, June Byrd; a sister, Ellen Roope. A funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, October 31, 2018 at Parklawn Memorial Park Chapel of Memory with Pastor Tim Duncan officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Tuesday at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel. The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to the staff of Oak Forest for the wonderful care they provided Lola.
