Lonnie Wallace Angel

KERNERSVILLE -- Lonnie Wallace Angel, 82, died Wednesday, February 26, 2014 peacefully at home. Lonnie was born on April 21, 1931 in Rockingham County to Lonnie R. and Ida Angel. He was a veteran of the US Marines and retired from RJ Reynolds with over 30 years of service, never missing a day of work. He was a good friend to all he met and loved to make people laugh. He will be missed by many, especially his granddaughter, Amanda, who shared a very dear relationship with him. Lonnie enjoyed the game of golf and patronized Pine Knolls Golf Course for many years.

In addition to his parents, Lonnie was preceded in death by his loving wife, Hattie Ward Angel; and two grandsons, Andrew Wood and Jason Tate.

Surviving are his brother, Max Angel; a daughter Donna Carter; a son, Mark Angel; a step daughter, Patricia Lee; and a loving granddaughter and caregiver, Amanda Perdue, of the home.

A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, March 1, 2014 at Crestview Memorial Park.
